La Tuna Canyon

I was introduced to a new canyon last week. We always hike/run Fryman canyon and Runyon canyon. Both of those canyons are a bit crowded and have tons of dogs. So when running both of these things become hazards. When I was taken to La Tuna canyon, I was very pleased to find the trails are very wide, the inclines are smooth and gradual, and it's such a long trail you rarely see people. The people that you do see, are very friendly. The best part of La Tuna Canyon is the view. Absolutely breathtaking! On one side you can see San Gabriel Valley. After you hike about 3 miles up you can see all of San Fernando Valley, LA, and on a clear day the Ocean.

It took us about an hour and 20 min to walk up to the top. We ran down in about 40 min. My husband and I are training for our 2nd Tough Mudder run. So the long distance run was good for us.

This is now my favorite canyon to run.
